KeymasterIn my many years, I have heard, been part of discussions on what inmates (Now Adults in Custody) want to do when they get out of prison.May wish to have a home cooked meal or a real hamburger or pizza, authentic Mexican cuisine or Chinese food prepared properly.
Some wish just to be left alone and enjoy the peace and quiet and not be around to many people. Others wish to go to the movies and enjoy the show on the big screen along with freshly prepped popcorn.
This past week during our modified lock down I really started to think what I really want to do when I leave the prison system. Granted, enjoying a great meal or a good movie is on the list, but one thing really hit me.
I want to take a woman out on a date, enjoy her company, her laughter and her smile. I wish to take her out to a nice dining establishment (Are there any left after Covid?) set up in a nice corner booth to a candlelight dinner. I would supply the candles since it seems that is a lost act.
After dinner, take her on a nice stroll to enjoy the evening. I really would like to take her out dancing, then maybe for a walk down by the river under the stars. We would chat about different things in our lives or nothing real heavy. Just simple talk. The evening ends with me escorting her back to her home and simply saying goodnight. If all went well, I might even get a kiss goodnight. Hopefully maybe even a second date.
Yea, I am old fashioned, but there is nothing wrong with the gentlemanly traditions that have seemed to have faded away from today’s society.
Opening doors, either on a automobile or a building. Respect and tradition will show a woman she is very special.
I would enjoy some comments on these thoughts, has the dating scene changed drastically with Covid or the “I have to have it right now attitude” of today’s generation? Please feel free to comment. Till next time.
