KeymasterMy heart goes out to the people of California who are in the fire zones, and who had lost their homes, businesses, jobs, schools, friends, and grocery stores. Even the people who did not lose their home are suffering because everything around them are gone. I understand exactly how you feel, the fear, the helplessness, and the anger that will soon follow. Furthermore, people knowing your situation will take advantage of you, insurance companies will delay your claim or deny your claim, fake insurance representatives will try to get your info to steal your identity, fake charities will spring up. God says, “Protect what you have, or you will lose it.” So, be careful! It’s not just the fire that causes the most damage, but people who intend on profiting from these events.
Hotels, motels, apartments, gas stations, restaurants, and even grocery stores will raise their prices. I understand that the State of California has price gouging laws, but people will price gouge. Businesses will price gouge. Remember, the price of toilet paper and availability during Covid? Or egg prices and cost of gasoline?
A lot of automobile insurance companies and homeowners’ insurance companies have raised their rates last year and even got rid of insurers who paid premiums for years and decades. So, it is time for people to prepare for tragedies in every state. Get the cheapest insurance for your cars and homes. Then take the money you save and put it in a high yield compound interest savings account of 4.5% or 5%. For example, if your car insurance is $1,200 a year, you can find a good insurance company for half the price, then that $600 you save put it in your own insurance account. Or, if your homeowners insurance cost too much, you can find a company that offers coverage for less. It is time for people to become their own insurance company. Also, build friendships and have a network of friends. Granted, most state laws require you to get insurance and don’t count friendships as necessities, so get the cheapest price you can, and start becoming your own insurance company that consist of savings and building friendships. Plus, everyone, should have an emergency fund. In addition, anything that is important to you put in a place that is ready for you to grab in case of evacuation. Also, have food, water, and medications, toilet paper, and clothing that is suitable to weather conditions. Have a survival kit in your car as well consisting of water, clothing, small tools, and cash that is ridden.
How are insurance companies paying for places to do business, commercials, and employees? From your money! It’s time to become your own insurance company where you are in charge and have peace of mind. Plus, good hands are your own hands and your friends’ hands.
I don’t know where Inmate Blogger is, or where my readers are, in relation to the fires, but my heart goes out to you, and I hope that you are safe and well. There will always be tragedies and situations where we think it won’t happen here or to us, but isn’t that what we all say when it does happen?
