A former corrections officer from the Southern Regional Jail in Beaver, West Virginia, was sentenced for failing to intervene to stop other officers from assaulting an inmate, identified by the initials Q.B., on March 1, 2022. Q.B. died as a result of the officers’ assault. Ashley Toney, 25, was sentenced to 78 months in prison.
